Architecture

System architecture from field to enterprise

IPCONIQ Connect separates data acquisition from the application layer. Field data is collected at multiple distributed points while the monitoring application stays central; the system grows piece by piece, and the center keeps running while new sites are added.

  • Distributed acquisition — an independent IPCONIQ Connect node at every site
  • Redundancy — dual server, dual device, dual network
  • Data integrity during outages — local buffering, forwarding once the link is restored
  • Open interfaces — OPC UA/DA, MQTT, REST, WebService, C/C++/C#/Java API

Hardware

On the panel PC

IPCONIQ is a Windows application and can run on ICC's IPC4PRO panel PCs. Because the display and the computer share one enclosure in the field, the operator station needs no separate monitor, case or cabling.

When software and hardware come from the same source, licensing and support also come from a single point of contact.

Capabilities

The data path in four steps

01 / CONNECT

Bring industrial assets and protocols together in a single data layer.

IPCONIQ Connect unifies PLCs, CNCs, smart meters and sensors from different brands on a single communication backbone. Protocol diversity stays in the field; the upper layer sees one standard data stream.

  • 6,000+ device drivers, 1,600+ manufacturers
  • OPC DA/UA · Modbus · IEC 101/104/61850 · DNP · MQTT · REST
  • 20,000 points per second, 512 devices per server

02 / VISUALIZE

Real-time monitoring on desktop, web and mobile.

With IPCONIQ SCADA and IPCONIQ HMI, operator screens, alarm management, trends and recipes are built in one engineering environment. The same project can be deployed as client–server or browser-based.

  • 30–70% less engineering effort with object-based engineering
  • Six deployment models, one project
  • Built-in GIS map and smart diagnostics

03 / ARCHIVE

Store operational data and put it in context.

IPCONIQ Historian archives high-frequency process data with compression. It delivers write and query performance at a scale relational databases cannot keep up with.

  • 8 million tags on a single server, retention beyond 10 years
  • 3 million records written and 5 million read per second
  • Swinging door, dead band, delta — up to 40× compression

04 / SCALE

From a single machine to a distributed enterprise architecture.

Because data acquisition and the application layer are separated, the system grows piece by piece. You do not stop the center when adding a new site, and you do not lose data when a server fails.

  • An independent acquisition node at every site
  • Dual server, dual device, dual network redundancy
  • Local buffering during outages and forwarding afterwards

Case studies

Three projects from the field

From the platform manufacturer's references worldwide. These projects were not carried out by ICC Dijital; they are shared to show the scale at which the platforms operate.

Water and wastewater

AI-assisted operation at a water treatment plant

Process data was being collected, but operator decisions relied on experience; delayed interventions and unplanned maintenance were driving up costs. A low-code water management platform was combined with an AI model, enabling the system to evaluate process data and generate recommendations for operators.

According to the manufacturer's report, response speed improved by more than 50% and maintenance costs fell by 40%.

Ports and logistics

Moving to data-driven maintenance at a 53-berth port

Maintenance of gantry cranes, ship unloaders and heavy equipment was based on experience, and early warning signs of failures went unnoticed. Equipment data was collected on a central platform, and maintenance plans were shaped by usage data.

From experience-based to data-driven maintenance.

Automotive manufacturing

Modernizing production-line monitoring at a motorcycle factory

The old Java-based monitoring setup handled CNC machines, PLCs and I/O connections separately and could not produce unified reporting. Fanuc, Mitsubishi and Brother machines and the PLCs were brought onto a single SCADA platform; real-time and historical trends, alarm management and automatic shift reports were added.

Real-time production visibility, downtime analysis and an architecture ready for expansion.
