The FWA880 is the world's first network device based on AMD® EPYC™ Embedded 3000 Series processors. It is a high-performance FWA8800 1U rack-type device powered by IBASE 1.5GHz (Max. 3.1GHz), eight-core EPYC Embedded 3201 SoC, supporting 64 GB UDIMM or 128 GB RDIMM DDR memory. The MBN806 motherboard hosts 2667MHz in both ECC and non-ECC versions.
With the FWA8800 integrated with the AMD® EPYC™ Embedded 3000 Series, network vendors can achieve significant increases in processor performance, flexible system configuration, and reliable system operation. The FWA8800 provides network security, VPN/SDN/NFV/SD-WAN, and data management.
The highly scalable FWA8800 accommodates up to 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports across two IBN cards using the Intel® I210-AT Ethernet controller and two NIC modules. Customers may require four NIC modules for a maximum of 32GbE Ports in the system.
